In order to have Shikai you must be a 5th seat or higher officer in your squad, and have your Captain's approval for the training. Then you must write 500 words about training for it(this would include spirit energy channeling, endurance training... the kind of things ichigo did while training for Bankai. just remember, it is different for everyone)

in Order to have Bankai, you must be a Lieutenant or Captain, and have my approval. That and write 750 words about your training. Very Happy
